How you can help
Please continue to support your child by encouraging them to read widely and frequently. In addition, help them to learn their spellings (these will be on the class blog every week). Ensuring that your child is fluent with their multiplication tables is also incredibly beneficial for them. There are lots of ways that these facts can be practised; chanting, singing, games, apps, web sites or simply writing them out.

Year 5 Reading for pleasure is an important factor for children to achieve a good reading level, therefore, children are expected to read at least three times a week and make a comment in their reading diary. This should be handed in daily.
Spellings are set weekly on a Friday and are also published on the blog. Multiplication tables are set on a Monday children should know these and the corresponding divisors.
If your child would like to learn more about our ILP (imaginative learning project) we would love them to share this independent learning with us.
