I am sure we all hope and pray that life can return to normal as soon as possible - We have been trying our upmost to carry on as normal and support the children as we prepare to teach in new ways.
As you know one of these ways is through Google Classrooms- which the children can access by signing on to google with their google school email address- they have done this in school this week.
In the spirit of keeping things normal where we can the spellings to learn for this week are:
deceive conceive receive perceive receipt protein caffeine seize either neither-
We will look at these again next Thursday through google classroom.
Look after each other and hope to see you all soon

Hawking Class
Welcome to Hawking Class
Welcome to Hawking class! My name is Miss Ellwood and I teach in Year 5. We are also lucky enough to have a coach from Get Active to teach PE on a Thursday afternoon.
In Hawking we aim to create an atmosphere of mutual respect for each other and a resilience in our learning. We will also develop our ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Although we work very hard, we have lots of fun along the way!
Term 2’s learning
During this half term, we’ll read information texts to find out about the Solar System and the Sun, using mnemonics to help us remember the facts. We’ll make a Solar System and investigate the cycle of day into night. We’ll learn about Galileo, the ‘father’ of modern astronomy and his famous astronomical discoveries. Taking on the roles of the planets, we’ll use movement to demonstrate the motions of the planets and moons. We’ll investigate space adventures and write newspaper reports. Then we’ll make a space shuttle or satellite, testing the materials for durability. At the end of the project, we’ll produce cushions on a space theme and consider the big question: why is there life on Earth?
Of course this only gives you a flavour of what the children will be getting up to in school this term and I am sure they will share many more of their learning experiences with you.
We look forward to a busy and productive term.

In Pankhurst we aim to show excellent behaviour for learning having fun along the way. We do our best to follow the school values and are learning to be good citizens of the world.
